  • Pastor Robert Morris: Welcome to "The Blessed Life."
  • 00:00:06.220 --> 00:00:08.060
  • I am so excited about this series we're in because we're in
  • 00:00:08.070 --> 00:00:11.030
  • a series right now called "Dream to Destiny."
  • 00:00:11.040 --> 00:00:14.010
  • Every person has a God-given dream and every person has a
  • 00:00:14.020 --> 00:00:18.200
  • God-given destiny.
  • 00:00:18.210 --> 00:00:20.120
  • You have a destiny that God has on your life.
  • 00:00:20.130 --> 00:00:24.140
  • But how do you get to that destiny?
  • 00:00:24.150 --> 00:00:26.060
  • Well, there are ten character tests that we have to pass to be
  • 00:00:26.070 --> 00:00:30.060
  • able to fulfill the destiny that God has for us.
  • 00:00:30.070 --> 00:00:32.190
  • And we're looking at the Bible and looking at Joseph's life.
  • 00:00:32.200 --> 00:00:36.010
  • God gave Joseph a dream when he was 17 and he stepped into that
  • 00:00:36.020 --> 00:00:40.090
  • destiny then and then fulfilled that destiny.
  • 00:00:40.100 --> 00:00:42.230
  • And we're talking about those ten character tests that Joseph
  • 00:00:42.240 --> 00:00:46.120
  • had to pass and that all of us have to pass so watch and allow
  • 00:00:46.130 --> 00:00:50.190
  • God to work in your life so that you can move from your dream to
  • 00:00:50.200 --> 00:00:54.270
  • your destiny.
  • 00:00:54.280 --> 00:00:56.260
  • [music]
  • 00:00:57.120 --> 00:01:12.000
  • [music]
  • 00:01:12.240 --> 00:01:22.250
  • [music]
  • 00:01:22.250 --> 00:01:22.260
  • [music]
  • 00:01:22.260 --> 00:01:29.130
  • For those who trust in You will find new strength.
  • 00:01:31.040 --> 00:01:35.240
  • God, You are, and You will be and You have always been.
  • 00:01:35.250 --> 00:01:48.170
  • You stand, You stand, You stand forever.
  • 00:01:48.180 --> 00:01:53.280
  • You stand, You stand, You stand forever.
  • 00:01:53.290 --> 00:01:59.150
  • In my highs, in my lows.
  • 00:01:59.160 --> 00:02:02.230
  • I know You'll never let go.
  • 00:02:02.240 --> 00:02:04.240
  • [music]
  • 00:02:04.250 --> 00:02:13.120
  • Pastor Robert: All right, we are continuing our series,
  • 00:02:13.130 --> 00:02:15.270
  • "Dream to Destiny."
  • 00:02:15.280 --> 00:02:17.070
  • We're talking about every person has a dream.
  • 00:02:17.080 --> 00:02:20.090
  • Every person has a destiny.
  • 00:02:20.100 --> 00:02:22.110
  • Listen to me. You have a destiny from God.
  • 00:02:22.120 --> 00:02:25.020
  • It's as important for you to fulfill your destiny
  • 00:02:25.030 --> 00:02:27.170
  • as it is for anyone.
  • 00:02:27.180 --> 00:02:28.290
  • Most people, though, live with the dream instead
  • 00:02:29.000 --> 00:02:33.020
  • of in the destiny.
  • 00:02:33.030 --> 00:02:35.050
  • And there is one major reason--please hear this--that
  • 00:02:35.060 --> 00:02:39.200
  • stops people from fulfilling the destiny God has for their lives.
  • 00:02:39.210 --> 00:02:43.100
  • I can put it in one word: character.
  • 00:02:43.110 --> 00:02:46.120
  • Character.
  • 00:02:46.130 --> 00:02:47.220
  • As a matter of fact, many people never fulfill the destiny God
  • 00:02:47.230 --> 00:02:51.140
  • has for them simply because their character will not support
  • 00:02:51.150 --> 00:02:55.070
  • the destiny.
  • 00:02:55.080 --> 00:02:56.170
  • God will actually not allow them to reach that destiny because
  • 00:02:56.180 --> 00:02:59.150
  • they're not ready to fulfill it or to carry
  • 00:02:59.160 --> 00:03:04.060
  • the responsibility of the destiny.
  • 00:03:04.070 --> 00:03:05.160
  • So we're looking at the life of Joseph.
  • 00:03:05.170 --> 00:03:08.120
  • Joseph had a dream from God, then he stepped into his destiny
  • 00:03:08.130 --> 00:03:12.070
  • when--he'd had dream when he was 17.
  • 00:03:12.080 --> 00:03:14.090
  • He stepped into the destiny when he was 30.
  • 00:03:14.100 --> 00:03:16.010
  • He actually did not fulfill his destiny until he was in his 40s
  • 00:03:16.020 --> 00:03:20.040
  • but it was a process but he had to pass 10 character tests and
  • 00:03:20.050 --> 00:03:26.020
  • that's what we're going through and it's in a book called,
  • 00:03:26.030 --> 00:03:28.000
  • "Dream to Destiny," but I want you to think about what is it in
  • 00:03:28.010 --> 00:03:32.120
  • my character God is trying to help and to shape so that I can
  • 00:03:32.130 --> 00:03:38.090
  • reach the destiny God has for me, all right?
  • 00:03:38.100 --> 00:03:40.180
  • So turn to Genesis chapter 37 and this week we're going to
  • 00:03:40.190 --> 00:03:45.040
  • talk about the pit test, all right?
  • 00:03:45.050 --> 00:03:47.190
  • We talked about the pride test.
  • 00:03:47.200 --> 00:03:49.110
  • Now, we're going to talk about the pit test.
  • 00:03:49.120 --> 00:03:52.040
  • So look at Genesis chapter 37, beginning in verse 13;
  • 00:03:52.050 --> 00:03:57.050
  • 13, verse 13, "And Israel," that's the same name as Jacob,
  • 00:03:59.060 --> 00:04:03.070
  • Joseph's father, "said to Joseph,
  • 00:04:03.080 --> 00:04:05.160
  • 'Are not your brothers feeding the flock in Shechem?
  • 00:04:05.170 --> 00:04:07.280
  • Come, and I will send you to them.'
  • 00:04:07.290 --> 00:04:10.070
  • So he said to him, 'Here I am.' Then he said to him,
  • 00:04:10.080 --> 00:04:12.230
  • 'Please go and see if it is well with your brothers and well with
  • 00:04:12.240 --> 00:04:15.190
  • the flocks, and bring back word to me.'
  • 00:04:15.200 --> 00:04:18.070
  • So he sent him out of the Valley of Hebron,
  • 00:04:18.080 --> 00:04:20.110
  • and he went to Shechem.
  • 00:04:20.120 --> 00:04:21.230
  • Now a certain man found him, and there he was,
  • 00:04:21.240 --> 00:04:24.210
  • wandering in the field."
  • 00:04:24.220 --> 00:04:26.190
  • Now I want you to, as you read the Bible,
  • 00:04:26.200 --> 00:04:28.280
  • I want you to get in the habit of seeing if things
  • 00:04:28.290 --> 00:04:32.290
  • jump off the page.
  • 00:04:33.000 --> 00:04:34.090
  • I want you to notice it says, "A certain man found him,
  • 00:04:34.100 --> 00:04:38.010
  • and there he was, wandering in a field."
  • 00:04:38.020 --> 00:04:40.240
  • In other words, he didn't go up to the man and ask.
  • 00:04:40.250 --> 00:04:42.260
  • He was just wandering.
  • 00:04:42.270 --> 00:04:44.060
  • Now we know he was a dreamer but I think he was a daydreamer too.
  • 00:04:44.070 --> 00:04:48.000
  • And you have to give him a little grace
  • 00:04:48.010 --> 00:04:50.280
  • 'cause he's only 17 years old.
  • 00:04:50.290 --> 00:04:52.120
  • So anyway, he's just wandering.
  • 00:04:52.130 --> 00:04:56.130
  • He's just wandering in a field,
  • 00:04:56.140 --> 00:04:58.120
  • "And the man said to him,
  • 00:04:58.130 --> 00:05:00.030
  • 'What are you seeking?'
  • 00:05:00.040 --> 00:05:01.130
  • So he said to him, 'I'm seeking my brothers.'"
  • 00:05:01.140 --> 00:05:04.290
  • I think he meant, "Thanks for reminding me."
  • 00:05:05.000 --> 00:05:08.160
  • "'Please tell me where they are feeding their flocks.'
  • 00:05:08.170 --> 00:05:11.080
  • And the man said, 'They have departed from here,
  • 00:05:11.090 --> 00:05:13.020
  • for I heard them say, "Let us go to Dothan."'
  • 00:05:13.030 --> 00:05:15.170
  • So Joseph went after his brothers
  • 00:05:15.180 --> 00:05:17.170
  • and found them in Dothan."
  • 00:05:17.180 --> 00:05:19.020
  • That's in Alabama.
  • 00:05:19.030 --> 00:05:21.030
  • Verse 18, "Now when they saw him afar off,
  • 00:05:23.240 --> 00:05:26.230
  • even before he came near them, they conspired against him
  • 00:05:26.240 --> 00:05:31.060
  • to kill him.
  • 00:05:31.070 --> 00:05:32.290
  • Then they said to one another,
  • 00:05:33.000 --> 00:05:34.090
  • 'Look, this dreamer is coming!
  • 00:05:34.100 --> 00:05:35.190
  • Therefore, let us now kill him and cast him into some pit,'"
  • 00:05:35.200 --> 00:05:39.140
  • we're going to talk about the pit test,
  • 00:05:39.150 --> 00:05:41.060
  • "'and we shall say, "Some wild beast has devoured him."
  • 00:05:41.070 --> 00:05:44.100
  • We shall see what will become of his dreams!'
  • 00:05:44.110 --> 00:05:46.230
  • But Reuben," who's the firstborn, by the way,
  • 00:05:46.240 --> 00:05:48.290
  • the oldest, "heard it, and he delivered him
  • 00:05:49.000 --> 00:05:52.000
  • out of their hands, and said, 'Let us not kill him.'
  • 00:05:52.010 --> 00:05:56.130
  • And Reuben said to them, 'Shed no blood,
  • 00:05:56.140 --> 00:05:58.160
  • but cast him into this pit,'" second time
  • 00:05:58.170 --> 00:06:01.120
  • we see the word 'pit', "which is in the wilderness,
  • 00:06:01.130 --> 00:06:03.290
  • and do not lay a hand on him," and this--the reason he said
  • 00:06:04.000 --> 00:06:07.100
  • it was, "that he might deliver him out of their hands,
  • 00:06:07.110 --> 00:06:10.010
  • and bring him back to his father.
  • 00:06:10.020 --> 00:06:12.010
  • So it came to pass, when Joseph had come to his brothers,
  • 00:06:12.020 --> 00:06:14.160
  • that they stripped Joseph of his tunic," or his robe,
  • 00:06:14.170 --> 00:06:18.080
  • his coat, "the tunic of many colors that was on him.
  • 00:06:18.090 --> 00:06:21.160
  • Then they took him and cast him into a pit.
  • 00:06:21.170 --> 00:06:24.120
  • And the pit was empty; and there was no water in it."
  • 00:06:24.130 --> 00:06:28.010
  • So I want to talk to you about getting out of a pit, all right?
  • 00:06:28.020 --> 00:06:31.110
  • And three things I want you to notice about the pit test.
  • 00:06:31.120 --> 00:06:34.130
  • Here's number one. The position of the pit.
  • 00:06:34.140 --> 00:06:38.170
  • The position of the pit.
  • 00:06:38.180 --> 00:06:40.280
  • In other words, what brought you to this position?
  • 00:06:40.290 --> 00:06:44.260
  • How did you get in this position?
  • 00:06:44.270 --> 00:06:47.140
  • It is a wise thing when we're in the pit to see if we did
  • 00:06:47.150 --> 00:06:52.150
  • something to attribute to our circumstances.
  • 00:06:52.160 --> 00:06:55.190
  • And I'm not talking about condemning now.
  • 00:06:55.200 --> 00:06:57.240
  • I'm talking about soul-searching and we're talking about saying
  • 00:06:57.250 --> 00:07:01.000
  • to God, "Search me, O God, and know my heart,
  • 00:07:01.010 --> 00:07:03.190
  • try me and know my thoughts."
  • 00:07:03.200 --> 00:07:05.150
  • Joseph could have easily said, "You know,
  • 00:07:05.160 --> 00:07:07.130
  • it's not my fault.
  • 00:07:07.140 --> 00:07:08.270
  • It's my brothers.
  • 00:07:08.280 --> 00:07:10.070
  • It's not the way that I talk about my dreams.
  • 00:07:10.080 --> 00:07:12.280
  • It's not the way I present myself.
  • 00:07:12.290 --> 00:07:14.220
  • It's not pride in me, it's envy in them."
  • 00:07:14.230 --> 00:07:18.150
  • And that's what many, many people do.
  • 00:07:18.160 --> 00:07:21.080
  • When we go through a difficult time,
  • 00:07:21.090 --> 00:07:23.080
  • we blame someone else.
  • 00:07:23.090 --> 00:07:25.040
  • Listen to me carefully.
  • 00:07:25.050 --> 00:07:26.140
  • I'm sorry for what your parents did to you but get over it.
  • 00:07:26.150 --> 00:07:31.120
  • You're 48 years old, man, do something for God.
  • 00:07:31.130 --> 00:07:34.100
  • Stop blaming people.
  • 00:07:34.110 --> 00:07:36.270
  • We live in a blame society.
  • 00:07:36.280 --> 00:07:41.160
  • It is amazing to me how many people that I talk to today
  • 00:07:41.170 --> 00:07:45.130
  • that say, "You know, I didn't understand
  • 00:07:45.140 --> 00:07:47.080
  • all the things I'm going through.
  • 00:07:47.090 --> 00:07:48.180
  • Now I understand it was my parents' fault."
  • 00:07:48.190 --> 00:07:50.170
  • No, it was how you responded.
  • 00:07:50.180 --> 00:07:53.170
  • It is not the action that puts us in a pit,
  • 00:07:53.180 --> 00:07:56.190
  • it's our reaction to the action.
  • 00:07:56.200 --> 00:07:59.010
  • Please hear me. Do some soul-searching.
  • 00:07:59.020 --> 00:08:03.130
  • His brothers hated him. Why did they hate him?
  • 00:08:03.140 --> 00:08:06.230
  • Why didn't he ever think about that?
  • 00:08:06.240 --> 00:08:08.130
  • As a matter of fact, think about this.
  • 00:08:08.140 --> 00:08:10.100
  • Why is he not with his brothers tending the flock
  • 00:08:10.110 --> 00:08:13.050
  • in the first place?
  • 00:08:13.060 --> 00:08:15.010
  • Why is he not there?
  • 00:08:15.020 --> 00:08:16.150
  • Most theologians believe it's because there was such animosity
  • 00:08:16.160 --> 00:08:20.030
  • between his brothers and him, that Jacob had to separate them.
  • 00:08:20.040 --> 00:08:24.020
  • And then Jacob says, "Go check on your brothers."
  • 00:08:24.030 --> 00:08:26.180
  • Now I want you to just think about this for a moment.
  • 00:08:26.190 --> 00:08:28.250
  • He didn't really expect Joseph to check on them.
  • 00:08:28.260 --> 00:08:32.100
  • He was trying to develop a relationship with them.
  • 00:08:32.110 --> 00:08:35.270
  • Joseph was 17 years old.
  • 00:08:35.280 --> 00:08:37.260
  • His brothers were older.
  • 00:08:37.270 --> 00:08:39.100
  • They're--ten of 'em, most of 'em,
  • 00:08:39.110 --> 00:08:41.010
  • 9 of 'em were in their 20s and 30s.
  • 00:08:41.020 --> 00:08:43.040
  • Reuben and Simeon were probably in their 40s.
  • 00:08:43.050 --> 00:08:46.100
  • They knew how to take care of sheep.
  • 00:08:46.110 --> 00:08:49.010
  • They didn't need a 17-year-old coming to check on them.
  • 00:08:49.020 --> 00:08:52.130
  • But Jacob thought maybe, maybe, Joseph will conduct himself
  • 00:08:52.140 --> 00:08:58.260
  • a little more maturely and everything will be okay.
  • 00:08:58.270 --> 00:09:01.090
  • Obviously, we know it's not the case.
  • 00:09:01.100 --> 00:09:03.030
  • But how did they know, by the way?
  • 00:09:03.040 --> 00:09:04.290
  • When Joseph, it says--the Bible verse in 18,
  • 00:09:05.000 --> 00:09:08.230
  • it says, "When he was--they saw him afar off,
  • 00:09:08.240 --> 00:09:11.250
  • even before he came near, they conspired."
  • 00:09:11.260 --> 00:09:13.280
  • They saw him a long way off.
  • 00:09:13.290 --> 00:09:15.220
  • How did they know it was him?
  • 00:09:15.230 --> 00:09:17.210
  • It was because he was wearing that blasted coat.
  • 00:09:17.220 --> 00:09:20.090
  • That orange, purple, polka dot, you know,
  • 00:09:20.100 --> 00:09:25.030
  • whatever it was, that you could see for a mile away.
  • 00:09:25.040 --> 00:09:29.020
  • I think he wore it everywhere he went.
  • 00:09:29.030 --> 00:09:30.160
  • I think he was proud of it.
  • 00:09:30.170 --> 00:09:31.260
  • I think he wore it in Texas in August.
  • 00:09:31.270 --> 00:09:36.160
  • And I want you to now draw some similarities.
  • 00:09:36.170 --> 00:09:38.270
  • Again, every time we read the Bible,
  • 00:09:38.280 --> 00:09:40.240
  • we need to say, "God, what are you saying to me
  • 00:09:40.250 --> 00:09:43.060
  • through this passage?"
  • 00:09:43.070 --> 00:09:44.160
  • I want you to think about this.
  • 00:09:44.170 --> 00:09:45.260
  • Joseph had his father's favor on him.
  • 00:09:45.270 --> 00:09:49.030
  • Guess what?
  • 00:09:49.040 --> 00:09:50.130
  • You're a son or a daughter who has your Father's favor on you.
  • 00:09:50.140 --> 00:09:54.000
  • And Joseph's father gave him a gift.
  • 00:09:54.010 --> 00:09:57.190
  • Guess what?
  • 00:09:57.200 --> 00:09:59.130
  • Your Father gave you a gift.
  • 00:09:59.140 --> 00:10:02.170
  • But Joseph was proud of his gift and showed it off
  • 00:10:02.180 --> 00:10:09.050
  • every chance he got.
  • 00:10:09.060 --> 00:10:11.000
  • How many believers are proud of the gift that God's given them?
  • 00:10:11.010 --> 00:10:17.030
  • Here's what I want to say to you.
  • 00:10:17.040 --> 00:10:18.160
  • The giver is so much better than the gift.
  • 00:10:18.170 --> 00:10:22.030
  • We need to be in love with the giver.
  • 00:10:22.040 --> 00:10:23.210
  • But it's amazing to me, how many people slip their gift
  • 00:10:23.220 --> 00:10:26.170
  • into the conversation.
  • 00:10:26.180 --> 00:10:28.100
  • And the reason is, it's because we have our identity
  • 00:10:28.110 --> 00:10:30.250
  • in our gift, not in that we're a child, a favored child.
  • 00:10:30.260 --> 00:10:34.070
  • And so I'll be talking to people and they'll just
  • 00:10:34.080 --> 00:10:36.010
  • kind of slip it in.
  • 00:10:36.020 --> 00:10:37.250
  • They'll just kind of say, "You know, I'm a--Pastor Robert,
  • 00:10:37.260 --> 00:10:40.050
  • I'm a prophet."
  • 00:10:40.060 --> 00:10:41.240
  • I feel like saying, "I knew that.
  • 00:10:41.250 --> 00:10:45.040
  • I'm a prophet too," you know, it's just so strangely though,
  • 00:10:45.050 --> 00:10:50.160
  • why we do that.
  • 00:10:50.170 --> 00:10:52.130
  • Why do you have to tell me about your gift?
  • 00:10:52.140 --> 00:10:55.030
  • Why do you have to show your coat off?
  • 00:10:55.040 --> 00:10:57.250
  • Why can't you just be your Father's child?
  • 00:10:57.260 --> 00:11:00.180
  • And this pride, this insecurity, this inferiority,
  • 00:11:00.190 --> 00:11:05.080
  • is what got Joseph in trouble.
  • 00:11:05.090 --> 00:11:06.230
  • It's what gets us in trouble.
  • 00:11:06.240 --> 00:11:08.050
  • Now, listen carefully, because this is--it's a strong one I'm
  • 00:11:08.060 --> 00:11:11.030
  • about to tell you.
  • 00:11:11.040 --> 00:11:12.130
  • He got a gift from his father. We get gifts from our Father.
  • 00:11:12.140 --> 00:11:15.270
  • But because of his pride, because of his arrogance,
  • 00:11:15.280 --> 00:11:18.060
  • listen to me carefully, listen.
  • 00:11:18.070 --> 00:11:22.060
  • He lost his gift.
  • 00:11:22.070 --> 00:11:24.260
  • Now, a lot of people immediately say,
  • 00:11:24.270 --> 00:11:26.110
  • "Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait. No, no, no.
  • 00:11:26.120 --> 00:11:28.050
  • God would never take the gift back that He gave me.
  • 00:11:28.060 --> 00:11:30.110
  • Matter of fact, Romans 11:29, 'The gifts and callings of God
  • 00:11:30.120 --> 00:11:32.260
  • are without repentance.'"
  • 00:11:32.270 --> 00:11:34.060
  • Well, there's a couple things. Number one,
  • 00:11:34.070 --> 00:11:35.160
  • that's not talking about you.
  • 00:11:35.170 --> 00:11:37.250
  • It's talking about the Jewish nation.
  • 00:11:37.260 --> 00:11:39.230
  • Number two, if you want to use it as an analogy,
  • 00:11:39.240 --> 00:11:42.250
  • I'm okay with that, that God's not going to take the gift back
  • 00:11:42.260 --> 00:11:45.130
  • because I didn't say that the father,
  • 00:11:45.140 --> 00:11:47.060
  • Joseph's father, took his gift back.
  • 00:11:47.070 --> 00:11:49.230
  • I said he lost it. Listen to me very carefully.
  • 00:11:49.240 --> 00:11:52.090
  • We've seen a lot of high profile ministers lose their gift
  • 00:11:52.100 --> 00:11:57.180
  • because of lack of integrity, lack of character.
  • 00:11:57.190 --> 00:12:01.200
  • Now, you say, "Well, what about me? What if that's me?
  • 00:12:01.210 --> 00:12:03.220
  • What if I've done something, I've lost my gift?
  • 00:12:03.230 --> 00:12:06.140
  • Can I ever get it back?"
  • 00:12:06.150 --> 00:12:07.250
  • Listen, listen. Joseph had one coat.
  • 00:12:07.260 --> 00:12:11.020
  • You remember where he went when he finally
  • 00:12:11.030 --> 00:12:13.100
  • fulfilled his destiny?
  • 00:12:13.110 --> 00:12:15.000
  • Governor of Egypt.
  • 00:12:15.010 --> 00:12:17.030
  • The second wealthiest man in the world.
  • 00:12:17.040 --> 00:12:20.250
  • He had hundreds of coats.
  • 00:12:20.260 --> 00:12:23.220
  • Listen, whatever you lose through foolishness,
  • 00:12:23.230 --> 00:12:26.040
  • if you'll repent, you can get back--you can get it back
  • 00:12:26.050 --> 00:12:28.020
  • a hundredfold.
  • 00:12:28.030 --> 00:12:29.120
  • I mean, Joseph had one of those closets that you walk in
  • 00:12:29.130 --> 00:12:31.180
  • with a button, zhhhhh, and the coats just went by.
  • 00:12:31.190 --> 00:12:38.230
  • Now you might be thinking, "Well,
  • 00:12:38.240 --> 00:12:40.030
  • yeah, but he didn't get this coat back."
  • 00:12:40.040 --> 00:12:42.100
  • I'm not so sure he didn't get it back because,
  • 00:12:42.110 --> 00:12:45.080
  • remember, he was restored to a relationship with Jacob.
  • 00:12:45.090 --> 00:12:48.120
  • I don't think Jacob ever threw that coat away.
  • 00:12:48.130 --> 00:12:51.200
  • And I'll tell you this.
  • 00:12:51.210 --> 00:12:53.000
  • Here's the most important thing, whether he got that coat back or
  • 00:12:53.010 --> 00:12:54.280
  • not, he got relationship with his father back,
  • 00:12:54.290 --> 00:12:59.140
  • which was more important than one gift.
  • 00:12:59.150 --> 00:13:02.140
  • So that's the position of the pit.
  • 00:13:02.150 --> 00:13:04.160
  • What got me in this position?
  • 00:13:04.170 --> 00:13:06.120
  • Here's number two. The perspective of the pit.
  • 00:13:06.130 --> 00:13:10.070
  • I want us to take a perspective and say,
  • 00:13:10.080 --> 00:13:13.110
  • "What am I doing here? What's God doing in my life?"
  • 00:13:13.120 --> 00:13:16.200
  • In other words, the--when I say, "What got me in this position,"
  • 00:13:16.210 --> 00:13:20.130
  • I'm saying, "Let's get God's perspective on the pit."
  • 00:13:20.140 --> 00:13:24.170
  • But when I talk about the perspective,
  • 00:13:24.180 --> 00:13:26.020
  • now I'm saying, "Let's make sure we don't get
  • 00:13:26.030 --> 00:13:27.240
  • Satan's perspective."
  • 00:13:27.250 --> 00:13:29.160
  • Every time you're in a pit, listen to me,
  • 00:13:29.170 --> 00:13:31.190
  • who shows up first?
  • 00:13:31.200 --> 00:13:33.020
  • The accuser of the brethren.
  • 00:13:33.030 --> 00:13:35.260
  • He will show up and he will begin to condemn you
  • 00:13:35.270 --> 00:13:37.260
  • and accuse you.
  • 00:13:37.270 --> 00:13:39.060
  • And there is a tremendous difference between conviction
  • 00:13:39.070 --> 00:13:42.030
  • and condemnation.
  • 00:13:42.040 --> 00:13:43.170
  • Conviction is specific.
  • 00:13:43.180 --> 00:13:45.140
  • Condemnation is general.
  • 00:13:45.150 --> 00:13:47.070
  • Conviction is you did this and this
  • 00:13:47.080 --> 00:13:49.280
  • and that's why you're in this pit.
  • 00:13:49.290 --> 00:13:51.140
  • Condemnation is you're a bad person,
  • 00:13:51.150 --> 00:13:53.160
  • you're a horrible person, you're worse than everyone else
  • 00:13:53.170 --> 00:13:56.000
  • and you'll never do what anything for God
  • 00:13:56.010 --> 00:13:58.000
  • and you'll never accomplish anything.
  • 00:13:58.010 --> 00:14:00.100
  • That's what the enemy does and God never--please hear this.
  • 00:14:00.110 --> 00:14:03.290
  • God never, never condemns you.
  • 00:14:04.000 --> 00:14:07.280
  • I can't tell you the burden I carry for correct theology.
  • 00:14:07.290 --> 00:14:13.050
  • I can't tell you we have the least knowledgeable society,
  • 00:14:13.060 --> 00:14:19.190
  • body of Christ, we've ever had on the earth
  • 00:14:19.200 --> 00:14:21.260
  • when it comes to theology.
  • 00:14:21.270 --> 00:14:23.060
  • We have absolutely horrible theology.
  • 00:14:23.070 --> 00:14:24.280
  • We don't have the basics down anymore.
  • 00:14:24.290 --> 00:14:26.260
  • We have a new age, a new generation theology about God,
  • 00:14:26.270 --> 00:14:30.180
  • and we are so mixed up about the character of God.
  • 00:14:30.190 --> 00:14:34.220
  • Listen to me. God never condemns you.
  • 00:14:34.230 --> 00:14:37.140
  • God--condemnation is always from the enemy.
  • 00:14:37.150 --> 00:14:40.110
  • If you ever get an accusatory or a condemning thought,
  • 00:14:40.120 --> 00:14:44.220
  • it is not from God.
  • 00:14:44.230 --> 00:14:46.290
  • And I can prove it to you by one verse.
  • 00:14:47.000 --> 00:14:48.290
  • I wish everybody in the world would memorize the verse after
  • 00:14:49.000 --> 00:14:53.130
  • the most famous verse in the Bible,
  • 00:14:53.140 --> 00:14:54.240
  • John 3:16, great verse.
  • 00:14:54.250 --> 00:14:56.090
  • Not taking anything away from John 3:16.
  • 00:14:56.100 --> 00:14:58.070
  • John 3:17 says, "God did not,"
  • 00:14:58.080 --> 00:15:02.000
  • did not, did not, did not, did not.
  • 00:15:02.010 --> 00:15:07.100
  • I'm going to keep saying it until you get it.
  • 00:15:07.110 --> 00:15:09.040
  • "Did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world,
  • 00:15:09.050 --> 00:15:13.250
  • but that through Him the world might be saved."
  • 00:15:13.260 --> 00:15:16.030
  • Listen, here's the whole theological reason
  • 00:15:16.040 --> 00:15:17.290
  • why God doesn't condemn.
  • 00:15:18.000 --> 00:15:19.140
  • God didn't send Jesus to condemn us.
  • 00:15:19.150 --> 00:15:21.200
  • We were already condemned.
  • 00:15:21.210 --> 00:15:24.150
  • We were born condemned.
  • 00:15:24.160 --> 00:15:26.260
  • "One man sinned and the world was condemned," that's Romans 5.
  • 00:15:26.270 --> 00:15:31.030
  • We were already condemned.
  • 00:15:31.040 --> 00:15:32.130
  • God did not send Jesus to condemn us,
  • 00:15:32.140 --> 00:15:35.250
  • but to save us from our condemnation.
  • 00:15:35.260 --> 00:15:38.250
  • So when I say, "Let's get a perspective,"
  • 00:15:38.260 --> 00:15:40.180
  • I'm saying let's get God's perspective.
  • 00:15:40.190 --> 00:15:43.210
  • Let's not--not let the enemy come in.
  • 00:15:43.220 --> 00:15:45.270
  • Here's what the enemy does.
  • 00:15:45.280 --> 00:15:47.080
  • He's a liar and he's the father of all lies.
  • 00:15:47.090 --> 00:15:49.260
  • Let me say it another way. If Satan is talking, he's lying.
  • 00:15:49.270 --> 00:15:54.050
  • If his lips are moving, he's lying.
  • 00:15:54.060 --> 00:15:57.000
  • I promise you, he's a liar.
  • 00:15:57.010 --> 00:15:58.210
  • Let me show you one of the most famous lies in this story
  • 00:15:58.220 --> 00:16:02.260
  • so we can learn from it.
  • 00:16:02.270 --> 00:16:04.070
  • Look at verse 31.
  • 00:16:04.080 --> 00:16:07.240
  • Genesis 37, verse 31, "So they took Joseph's tunic,
  • 00:16:07.250 --> 00:16:11.290
  • killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the tunic in the blood.
  • 00:16:12.000 --> 00:16:16.050
  • Then they sent the tunic of many colors,
  • 00:16:16.060 --> 00:16:18.090
  • and they brought it to their father and said," notice what
  • 00:16:18.100 --> 00:16:20.250
  • the brothers said.
  • 00:16:20.260 --> 00:16:22.050
  • "'We have found this.
  • 00:16:22.060 --> 00:16:24.140
  • Do you know whether it is your son's tunic or not?'
  • 00:16:24.150 --> 00:16:27.290
  • And he recognized it and said, 'It is my son's tunic.'"
  • 00:16:28.000 --> 00:16:32.020
  • Now watch what Jacob says on his own.
  • 00:16:32.030 --> 00:16:34.230
  • "A wild beast has devoured him.
  • 00:16:34.240 --> 00:16:37.210
  • Without doubt Joseph is torn to pieces."
  • 00:16:37.220 --> 00:16:42.220
  • Let me ask you a very simple question.
  • 00:16:42.230 --> 00:16:44.160
  • Had a wild beast devoured Joseph?
  • 00:16:44.170 --> 00:16:47.230
  • No, this was a lie. Now, listen.
  • 00:16:47.240 --> 00:16:50.070
  • Please remember what I'm about to tell you.
  • 00:16:50.080 --> 00:16:52.100
  • Satan is such a good liar that he will fabricate evidence
  • 00:16:52.110 --> 00:16:57.200
  • to back up his lies.
  • 00:16:57.210 --> 00:17:01.070
  • This was fabricated evidence and the--most people believe
  • 00:17:01.080 --> 00:17:06.230
  • that the brothers, 'cause earlier they said,
  • 00:17:06.240 --> 00:17:08.210
  • "Let's tell him this. Let's kill him and tell him a wild beast."
  • 00:17:08.220 --> 00:17:11.090
  • But they never told their father.
  • 00:17:11.100 --> 00:17:12.190
  • They never said, "A wild beast killed Joseph."
  • 00:17:12.200 --> 00:17:14.240
  • They never said that, "And we found his body or then I--"
  • 00:17:14.250 --> 00:17:17.080
  • They simply said, "Is that your son's coat?"
  • 00:17:17.090 --> 00:17:20.040
  • They ripped it up and put blood on it.
  • 00:17:20.050 --> 00:17:21.140
  • "Is that your son's coat?"
  • 00:17:21.150 --> 00:17:23.060
  • And Jacob on his own came to the conclusion he's been killed
  • 00:17:23.070 --> 00:17:27.190
  • by a wild beast.
  • 00:17:27.200 --> 00:17:29.070
  • 'Course, you know, when you think about it,
  • 00:17:29.080 --> 00:17:30.190
  • it really makes you angry at the brothers because Joseph--I mean,
  • 00:17:30.200 --> 00:17:34.010
  • Jacob, believed this lie for 22 years.
  • 00:17:34.020 --> 00:17:38.060
  • Twenty-two years.
  • 00:17:38.070 --> 00:17:39.160
  • He didn't know until Joseph was 39 that he wasn't killed
  • 00:17:39.170 --> 00:17:42.120
  • by a wild beast.
  • 00:17:42.130 --> 00:17:43.220
  • He didn't know he was alive until he was 39 years old.
  • 00:17:43.230 --> 00:17:45.130
  • And I think of all the times that he cried himself to sleep
  • 00:17:45.140 --> 00:17:47.290
  • in the next room and the brothers listened to their
  • 00:17:48.000 --> 00:17:50.270
  • father crying and never walked across the hall to say,
  • 00:17:50.280 --> 00:17:54.250
  • "It's not true. Your son's alive. It's not true."
  • 00:17:54.260 --> 00:17:58.180
  • That's the hardness of sin.
  • 00:17:58.190 --> 00:18:01.190
  • But it was a lie and it was evidence.
  • 00:18:01.200 --> 00:18:04.060
  • I'm telling you, God--Satan will do the same thing with you.
  • 00:18:04.070 --> 00:18:07.020
  • He'll fabricate it. He'll say, "You're not going to be healed.
  • 00:18:07.030 --> 00:18:09.170
  • Look at that report. Your life's not going to change.
  • 00:18:09.180 --> 00:18:12.250
  • Look at this. You're not going to make it in your business.
  • 00:18:12.260 --> 00:18:14.230
  • Look at 'The Wall Street Journal.' Look at this report."
  • 00:18:14.240 --> 00:18:18.130
  • Here's his number one,
  • 00:18:18.140 --> 00:18:20.130
  • probably the number one lie he's doing today.
  • 00:18:20.140 --> 00:18:22.290
  • Here is, probably number one.
  • 00:18:23.000 --> 00:18:25.020
  • You're married to the wrong person.
  • 00:18:25.030 --> 00:18:28.100
  • And there's evidence of it right there.
  • 00:18:28.110 --> 00:18:31.010
  • Let me give you the evidence.
  • 00:18:31.020 --> 00:18:32.110
  • Look, look, look, look at how opposite you are.
  • 00:18:32.120 --> 00:18:35.010
  • Now that's an amazing lie to me that anyone ever believe that.
  • 00:18:35.020 --> 00:18:37.120
  • Look, look how opposite you--of course,
  • 00:18:37.130 --> 00:18:39.140
  • you're opposite.
  • 00:18:39.150 --> 00:18:40.260
  • You don't want to marry someone like you.
  • 00:18:40.270 --> 00:18:44.280
  • Think about it. You know you.
  • 00:18:44.290 --> 00:18:48.000
  • If you married you, you'd kill yourself.
  • 00:18:48.010 --> 00:18:52.270
  • The whole reason you married her is 'cause she was not like you.
  • 00:18:52.280 --> 00:18:55.140
  • And here's what happens.
  • 00:18:55.150 --> 00:18:58.290
  • Some guy will start going to the gym and he'll start working out
  • 00:18:59.000 --> 00:19:02.090
  • and he kind of enjoys that.
  • 00:19:02.100 --> 00:19:04.140
  • That's what he likes doing.
  • 00:19:04.150 --> 00:19:05.240
  • His wife, she's--that's not what she enjoys and pretty soon he'll
  • 00:19:05.250 --> 00:19:08.190
  • see a woman there and that's what she enjoys and Satan will
  • 00:19:08.200 --> 00:19:11.120
  • say, "See, she has the same values you do.
  • 00:19:11.130 --> 00:19:13.120
  • See, she's your perfect match.
  • 00:19:13.130 --> 00:19:15.220
  • See, she's--" Listen, listen to me,
  • 00:19:15.230 --> 00:19:17.210
  • man, listen to me, it's a lie.
  • 00:19:17.220 --> 00:19:20.290
  • It's a lie from the enemy and he will fabricate evidence.
  • 00:19:21.000 --> 00:19:24.270
  • He'll give you evidence at the gym,
  • 00:19:24.280 --> 00:19:26.120
  • she's the one for you and he'll give you evidence at home,
  • 00:19:26.130 --> 00:19:28.180
  • she's not the one for you.
  • 00:19:28.190 --> 00:19:29.280
  • And you'll say, "Yeah."
  • 00:19:29.290 --> 00:19:31.080
  • But I've had men tell me,
  • 00:19:31.090 --> 00:19:33.120
  • "Robert, let me tell you the signs God's given me."
  • 00:19:33.130 --> 00:19:35.280
  • I said, "God didn't give you signs for a divorce."
  • 00:19:35.290 --> 00:19:41.040
  • Can I say that again?
  • 00:19:41.050 --> 00:19:43.240
  • And I know, I know, that I preach to 50% of our society
  • 00:19:43.250 --> 00:19:47.070
  • that's been through a divorce and I never,
  • 00:19:47.080 --> 00:19:48.260
  • ever, ever, want you to feel condemnation but I will never
  • 00:19:48.270 --> 00:19:51.210
  • back off the truth of God's Word that He
  • 00:19:51.220 --> 00:19:54.020
  • believes in the covenant of marriage.
  • 00:19:54.030 --> 00:19:55.120
  • We can't back off of that.
  • 00:19:55.130 --> 00:20:02.220
  • So don't believe a lie.
  • 00:20:02.230 --> 00:20:04.150
  • Don't get Satan's perspective.
  • 00:20:04.160 --> 00:20:05.280
  • Look at the position you're in and see what God
  • 00:20:05.290 --> 00:20:07.260
  • is saying about it.
  • 00:20:07.270 --> 00:20:09.060
  • But don't get Satan's perspective.
  • 00:20:09.070 --> 00:20:10.160
  • Here's number three, the purpose of the pit.
  • 00:20:10.170 --> 00:20:13.290
  • What is the purpose of the pit?
  • 00:20:14.000 --> 00:20:16.200
  • Well, I'm going to tell you what it is
  • 00:20:16.210 --> 00:20:18.020
  • and then show it to you right out of Scripture.
  • 00:20:18.030 --> 00:20:19.130
  • The purpose of every pit is to get us to cry out to God.
  • 00:20:19.140 --> 00:20:24.260
  • The purpose of every pit is to get us to cry out to God.
  • 00:20:24.270 --> 00:20:28.040
  • Let me say it another way.
  • 00:20:28.050 --> 00:20:29.140
  • What else is there to do in a pit?
  • 00:20:29.150 --> 00:20:30.280
  • I mean, there's nobody else to talk to.
  • 00:20:30.290 --> 00:20:38.140
  • I mean, you could walk around and gripe for a while
  • 00:20:38.150 --> 00:20:40.150
  • but eventually you're going to have to say,
  • 00:20:40.160 --> 00:20:42.040
  • "Mmm, I need God.
  • 00:20:42.050 --> 00:20:44.130
  • I'm not getting out of this without God."
  • 00:20:44.140 --> 00:20:46.060
  • You know what's amazing to me?
  • 00:20:46.070 --> 00:20:47.160
  • Is we'll get in the pit and we'll say,
  • 00:20:47.170 --> 00:20:49.090
  • "Lord--" We'll pray about it some and then we'll--well,
  • 00:20:49.100 --> 00:20:52.000
  • it's not that big of a pit and so we'll get out,
  • 00:20:52.010 --> 00:20:55.050
  • and in essence our attitude is, like, never mind.
  • 00:20:55.060 --> 00:20:59.060
  • Yeah, I don't really need You, God, it's okay.
  • 00:20:59.070 --> 00:21:01.110
  • You can go back to whatever You were doing.
  • 00:21:01.120 --> 00:21:02.240
  • And then we get in the big pit and then we say,
  • 00:21:02.250 --> 00:21:05.210
  • "Okay, I really need You this time 'cause I can't do this
  • 00:21:05.220 --> 00:21:09.050
  • on my own."
  • 00:21:09.060 --> 00:21:10.150
  • Just so you'll know, correct theology again,
  • 00:21:10.160 --> 00:21:12.170
  • you can't do anything on your own.
  • 00:21:12.180 --> 00:21:14.160
  • Every breath comes from God.
  • 00:21:14.170 --> 00:21:17.180
  • Every breath comes from God.
  • 00:21:17.190 --> 00:21:19.290
  • So we get thrown in a pit, what do we do?
  • 00:21:20.000 --> 00:21:22.060
  • We have to cry out to God.
  • 00:21:22.070 --> 00:21:23.160
  • Let me show you another guy got thrown in a pit, Jonah.
  • 00:21:23.170 --> 00:21:25.250
  • Remember, God called Jonah to go to Nineveh?
  • 00:21:25.260 --> 00:21:28.060
  • So he went to Tarshish which is the opposite,
  • 00:21:28.070 --> 00:21:30.120
  • by the way, gate's in the different direction.
  • 00:21:30.130 --> 00:21:33.020
  • Jonah 2, verse 1, "Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God
  • 00:21:33.030 --> 00:21:36.080
  • from the fish's belly.
  • 00:21:36.090 --> 00:21:37.230
  • And he said, 'I cried out to the Lord,'"
  • 00:21:37.240 --> 00:21:39.290
  • that's the purpose of the pit.
  • 00:21:40.000 --> 00:21:41.110
  • Listen why he cried out, "Because of my affliction."
  • 00:21:41.120 --> 00:21:44.140
  • The affliction could be a good thing,
  • 00:21:44.150 --> 00:21:46.020
  • if it gets you to cry out to God.
  • 00:21:46.030 --> 00:21:47.290
  • "And He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol--"
  • 00:21:48.000 --> 00:21:51.020
  • Sheol is an Old Testament
  • 00:21:51.030 --> 00:21:53.050
  • Hebrew word that means the pit and it is translated
  • 00:21:53.060 --> 00:21:56.200
  • the pit several times.
  • 00:21:56.210 --> 00:21:58.040
  • "Out of Sheol, the belly of Sheol,
  • 00:21:58.050 --> 00:22:00.050
  • I cried, and You heard my voice."
  • 00:22:00.060 --> 00:22:02.120
  • Verse 6, "You have brought up my life from the pit."
  • 00:22:02.130 --> 00:22:07.150
  • See, I'm wondering if for the first few hours or whatever when
  • 00:22:07.160 --> 00:22:12.000
  • Joseph was in the pit, I wonder if he was rehearsing how bad his
  • 00:22:12.010 --> 00:22:16.010
  • brothers were.
  • 00:22:16.020 --> 00:22:17.120
  • And how good he was.
  • 00:22:17.130 --> 00:22:19.120
  • "You know, God, I just can't believe this and here these guys
  • 00:22:19.130 --> 00:22:21.260
  • have done this to me.
  • 00:22:21.270 --> 00:22:23.060
  • And, You know, God, I got that dream about these guys bowing
  • 00:22:23.070 --> 00:22:25.160
  • down to me, You know?
  • 00:22:25.170 --> 00:22:27.120
  • I mean, they're supposed to be bowing down to me,
  • 00:22:27.130 --> 00:22:29.060
  • You know, I--God, I know You're gonna get them
  • 00:22:29.070 --> 00:22:32.040
  • for what they did to me."
  • 00:22:32.050 --> 00:22:33.260
  • And I'm wondering if his prayers went along those lines and after
  • 00:22:33.270 --> 00:22:36.130
  • a while he started thinking, "You know,
  • 00:22:36.140 --> 00:22:37.230
  • I'm probably caused some of this myself.
  • 00:22:37.240 --> 00:22:40.160
  • Maybe just a little, God.
  • 00:22:40.170 --> 00:22:41.280
  • I just wanted to admit that to You while I was talking to You,
  • 00:22:41.290 --> 00:22:44.290
  • that maybe a little bit of this I brought on myself."
  • 00:22:45.000 --> 00:22:48.070
  • Probably after a few hours, he's down on his knees,
  • 00:22:48.080 --> 00:22:50.110
  • "Oh, God. I did it. It's me.
  • 00:22:50.120 --> 00:22:53.070
  • I'm the one that's wrong. It's me."
  • 00:22:53.080 --> 00:22:55.060
  • And I think he--something happened to him in that pit
  • 00:22:55.070 --> 00:22:59.070
  • that changed his life.
  • 00:22:59.080 --> 00:23:00.200
  • And I think when that happened, is when Judah got the idea,
  • 00:23:00.210 --> 00:23:05.020
  • pull him up out of the pit, saw the Midianite traders and said,
  • 00:23:05.030 --> 00:23:08.010
  • "Let's sell him. Let's not kill him.
  • 00:23:08.020 --> 00:23:09.260
  • Let's sell him."
  • 00:23:09.270 --> 00:23:11.100
  • And so that's when things begin to change for him.
  • 00:23:11.110 --> 00:23:13.090
  • Now, let me show you just a couple of things that happened
  • 00:23:13.100 --> 00:23:16.150
  • that are types and shadows.
  • 00:23:16.160 --> 00:23:18.090
  • Anytime you read the Old Testament,
  • 00:23:18.100 --> 00:23:20.040
  • it's true, it happened literally but it's a type and a shadow
  • 00:23:20.050 --> 00:23:23.100
  • of something, thus it's for our instruction according
  • 00:23:23.110 --> 00:23:26.140
  • to 1 Corinthians 10.
  • 00:23:26.150 --> 00:23:28.270
  • Genesis 37, verse 22 says, "And Reuben said to them,
  • 00:23:28.280 --> 00:23:33.070
  • 'Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit which is in the
  • 00:23:33.080 --> 00:23:36.120
  • wilderness, and do not lay a hand on him,'"
  • 00:23:36.130 --> 00:23:38.090
  • Now, this is the reason that he said it,
  • 00:23:38.100 --> 00:23:40.130
  • "that he might deliver him," notice these words,
  • 00:23:40.140 --> 00:23:43.280
  • deliver him, "out of their hands,
  • 00:23:43.290 --> 00:23:46.110
  • and bring him back to his father."
  • 00:23:46.120 --> 00:23:49.240
  • Now, let me tell you something about Reuben.
  • 00:23:49.250 --> 00:23:51.140
  • Reuben's the firstborn.
  • 00:23:51.150 --> 00:23:53.110
  • By the way, remember Joseph was the favorite son.
  • 00:23:53.120 --> 00:23:56.260
  • Everybody knew that.
  • 00:23:56.270 --> 00:23:58.060
  • Reuben should have been the favorite son.
  • 00:23:58.070 --> 00:24:01.040
  • And yet here he is, looking out for him and protecting him.
  • 00:24:01.050 --> 00:24:05.020
  • Now, remember that Reuben was the firstborn.
  • 00:24:05.030 --> 00:24:08.020
  • Colossians 1 tells us Jesus is the firstborn of God,
  • 00:24:08.030 --> 00:24:13.120
  • the firstborn among many brethren.
  • 00:24:13.130 --> 00:24:15.060
  • The firstborn.
  • 00:24:15.070 --> 00:24:16.160
  • So the firstborn wants to deliver Joseph out of this pit,
  • 00:24:16.170 --> 00:24:21.200
  • and listen why he says.
  • 00:24:21.210 --> 00:24:23.000
  • Two reasons.
  • 00:24:23.010 --> 00:24:24.100
  • "To deliver him and to bring him back to the father."
  • 00:24:24.110 --> 00:24:28.040
  • Okay, so try to remember this.
  • 00:24:28.050 --> 00:24:29.210
  • The purpose of every pit is to deliver us and bring us back
  • 00:24:29.220 --> 00:24:34.180
  • to the Father.
  • 00:24:34.190 --> 00:24:35.290
  • That's the purpose of every pit.
  • 00:24:36.000 --> 00:24:37.230
  • The purpose of every pit is to set us free from those things
  • 00:24:37.240 --> 00:24:41.030
  • that are holding us in bondage and bring us into closer
  • 00:24:41.040 --> 00:24:44.000
  • relationship with the Father.
  • 00:24:44.010 --> 00:24:46.010
  • Pastor Robert: Even if you're in a pit of your own making,
  • 00:24:46.080 --> 00:24:49.030
  • I want to encourage you to cry out to God.
  • 00:24:49.040 --> 00:24:51.260
  • Many of the pits that we fall in in our lives,
